URÂNIO FILMS is an independent production company based in the state of Acre, in the Amazon region.
The company was founded by Tiago Melo and Mariana Braga with the objective of strengthening film production in the northern region of Brazil.
It houses the films developed by Tiago Melo alongside the producer Carol Ferreira.

Tiago Melo has 20 years of dedication to Brazilian cinema, with more than 40 feature films in his filmography as a producer, including Neon Bull, Aquarius, and Bacurau. He graduated in 2007 from the screenwriting program at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in Cuba.
His first feature film as a director, Azougue Nazaré (2018), had its world premiere at IFFR – International Film Festival Rotterdam, where it won the Bright Future Award for Best Film. He is currently finishing his second feature, Yellow Cake.
Carol Ferreira is a journalist from Recife. She produced the documentaries Em Nome da América, by Fernando Weller (winner of Best Documentary at the 41st São Paulo International Film Festival), and Gyuri, by Mariana Lacerda. In fiction, she is currently finalizing Yellow Cake, the second feature by Tiago Melo.
As an executive producer, she worked on the fiction features Curral, by Marcelo Brennand, and King Car, by Renata Pinheiro, which won Best Film at the 2021 Gramado Film Festival.
